How to Share or See a Wi-Fi Password on iPhone (Android and PC Included)
Share your Wi-Fi with another iPhone in one tap, show the password to an Android user, or find a saved Wi-Fi password in the Passwords app. All methods explained.
A visitor asks for your Wi-Fi password and you do not remember it? iPhone can share it instantly with Apple devices, and show it or create a QR code for everyone else.
Method 1: Share with another iPhone, iPad or Mac
- Your iPhone must be unlocked and connected to the Wi-Fi.
- Your contact's email or phone number (linked to their Apple Account) must be in your contacts, and theirs in yours ideally.
- On their device, select your Wi-Fi network.
- On your iPhone, a Share Password card appears: tap it.
Keep both devices close, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on.
Method 2: See the password
- Settings > Wi-Fi, tap (i) next to the network, then tap the Password field and authenticate with Face ID.
- Or open the Passwords app (iOS 18 and later) > Wi-Fi: all saved networks with their passwords.
Method 3: QR code for Android and others
In the Passwords app > Wi-Fi > tap the network > Show Network QR Code. The other person scans it with their camera and connects without typing.
Method 4: Copy and send
Tap the password field, choose Copy Password and send it by message. Do this only with people you trust.
Sharing does not work?
- Update both devices.
- Restart Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Check that the contact card contains the Apple Account email of the other person.
- Persistent Wi-Fi problems: Wi-Fi not working on iPhone.
