iOS 27.0.1 IPSW Download: Build 24A446, Compatible iPhones and What It Fixes
iOS 27.0.1 (build 24A446) is the first bug-fix update for iOS 27. Here is what it fixes, which iPhones can install it, and how to install it with an IPSW file.
Apple released iOS 27.0.1 on September 28, 2026, two weeks after iOS 27 reached the public on September 14. It is a small update, but if you own an iPhone 18 Pro or noticed your screen freezing, it is one you should not skip.
This guide explains what changed, which devices can install it, and how to install it manually with an IPSW file if the over-the-air update fails.
iOS 27.0.1 at a glance
- Version: iOS 27.0.1
- Build: 24A446 (iOS 27.0 was 24A437)
- Release date: September 28, 2026
- Signing status: signed at the time of writing. Always confirm on our Signing Status page before you start.
Build numbers can differ slightly between models, especially for brand-new devices. Check your own device page (for example iPhone 11) to see the exact file for your model.
What iOS 27.0.1 fixes
Apple's release notes list three fixes:
- iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max restarting unexpectedly when Face ID fails to recognize the user.
- A color artifact on photos taken at 2x zoom in certain lighting, also on iPhone 18 Pro models.
- An unresponsive touchscreen after opening Notification Center and Control Center at the same time. This one affects every model that runs iOS 27.
Some users also reported a delay of several seconds when searching Contacts in iOS 27.0. Apple did not mention this in the notes, so if you still see it after updating, a restart usually helps.
Which iPhones can install iOS 27.0.1?
Every iPhone that supports iOS 27 can install 27.0.1:
- iPhone SE (2nd generation) and iPhone SE (3rd generation)
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 12 mini, 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 13 mini, 13, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max

- iPhone 16e, 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max

Not sure which model you have? Go to Settings > General > About and tap the model number to reveal an identifier such as "iPhone12,1", then enter it in our Identifier Lookup tool.
Option 1: Install over the air (easiest)
- Connect to Wi-Fi and plug in your charger.
- Open Settings > General > Software Update.
- Tap Update Now and wait. Your iPhone restarts once.
If you are already on iOS 27.0, the over-the-air download is much smaller than a full IPSW file.
Option 2: Install with the IPSW file
Use this method when the update keeps failing, your iPhone is stuck on the Apple logo, or you want a completely clean installation.
- Back up your iPhone to iCloud or to your computer. A restore erases everything.
- Download the iOS 27.0.1 IPSW for your exact model from its device page on getIPSW. Files weigh several gigabytes, so use a stable connection.
- Connect the iPhone to a Mac (Finder) or a Windows PC (Apple Devices app or iTunes).
- Hold Option (Mac) or Shift (Windows) and click Check for Update to install while keeping your data, or Restore iPhone for a clean install.
- Select the IPSW file you downloaded and wait without unplugging the cable.
If you get an error such as 4013 or "the iPhone could not be restored", read our guide to common IPSW restore errors.
Should you update?
Yes. iOS 27.0.1 contains no new features, only fixes. If you are already on iOS 27, there is no reason to stay on 27.0. If you are still on iOS 26 and hesitating, read our comparison iOS 26.7.1 or iOS 27: which should you install? first, because once you move to iOS 27 you cannot go back.
